This report (Reporter Zhang Yugege) aims to create an innovative atmosphere for industrial design, discover and gather a group of outstanding creative design talents, and accelerate the innovative development and transformation of the national lock industry. The registration for the fifth "Golden Hook" China Lock and Craft Equipment Design Competition, jointly organized by the China Hardware Products Association and the China Industrial Design Association, has officially begun. The theme of this competition is "Reform and Innovation, Design the Future."
According to the China Hardware Products Association, this competition aims to respond to the central government's call to promote economic transformation through innovation, encourage enterprises to carry out independent innovation, strengthen the design talent pool, build a platform for the integration of design innovation and traditional manufacturing, and enhance the industrial design level of China's lock industry.
According to staff, the competition will elevate the industrial design of China's lock industry to new heights. The authority, broad scope, longevity, and standardized operation of the competition ensure that the "Golden Hook" becomes an authoritative, fair, and influential design award in the national lock and craft equipment field. The selection will refer to international industrial design evaluation standards, and the organizing committee will conduct preliminary and re-evaluations of the entries from September 15 to October 11, selecting the Golden Hook Supreme, Golden Hook Star, Golden Hook, and organizational awards, with an award ceremony held at the annual meeting of the lock branch. All products that reach the final evaluation will be showcased during the 2024 China International Hardware Exhibition.
This competition's entries are divided into lock products and lock craft equipment, and all materials must comply with national energy-saving, environmental protection, and safety industrial policies. The competition is open to domestic and foreign enterprises engaged in this industry; teachers and students from domestic and foreign colleges and universities, as well as vocational schools' industrial design departments; and personnel from domestic and foreign industrial design companies. It is particularly noteworthy that the competition entries are divided into two categories: product group and concept group. The product group mainly consists of works from manufacturing enterprises, while the concept group mainly includes works from manufacturing enterprises, design companies, and professional schools.
It is understood that the "Golden Hook" Industrial Design Competition for the Chinese hardware products industry was launched in 2010, co-hosted by the China Hardware Products Association and the China Industrial Design Association, initially focusing on faucets and shower products in the bathroom industry. In 2014, the competition expanded to the overall kitchen industry, enriching and modernizing the content and connotation of industrial design. At the request of many lock manufacturing enterprises, four sessions of the "Golden Hook" China Lock and Craft Equipment Design Competition were successfully held from 2016 to 2023.
